About Me

Yes, that was me a few years ago while on vacation in Wells, Maine.  I was forty five pounds heavier than I am today and probably consumed with thoughts as to how I was going to lose the weight I was sure to gain during our one week stay.  I loved food then and still do today.  The difference being is that I now eat a plant-based, nutrient dense diet.
After watching my Mom suffer from an aggressive form of brain cancer; I realized I had a responsibility to take care of myself.  It was devastating watching someone I loved so very much succumb to such a senseless disease.  Being a stay at home Mom , I knew the day would come when I would have to re-enter the workforce (I have a BS in Business Administration).  With the memory of my Mom’s illness and with a fair amount of trepidation (my spring chicken days are behind me), I changed my direction and decided to get certified as a Personal Trainer.  My Mom is a huge part of my motivation to help others get healthy.  I carry her with me everyday.
This site’s focus is on healthy eating and exercise.  If you combine the two, along with rest (rest = repair), you can’t go wrong.  The recipes are delish and the exercises, for the gym and home, are meant to take the intimidation factor away from and add fun to your workout.  Allow the best gift you can give to yourself and your family and get started today.  Check out the site and leave a comment or share your story.  I would love to hear from you.
